TCX Competizione S Gore-Tex

The Competizione S Gore-Tex motorcycle boots from TCX guarantee users maximum protection and the highest levels of performance. TCX has a history of innovations: the Torsion Control System patent, used in racing and off road biking and the Metatarsal Control System®, which has for years been an important reference point in the motorcycle sector.

Torsion Control System®

The Torsion Control System® has undergone modifications and been perfected, increasing its functionality and safety performance of the TCX Competizione S Gore-Tex. The system has been noticeably updated and is now made up of 4 combined elements. The main structure has a double heel and a frame that allow lateral and longitudinal movement of the ankle, preventing torsion beyond natural limits and therefore protecting the joints from possible injuries.

The main structure of the TCX Competizione S Gore-Tex is connected to an X-shaped central body sewn to the upper, that connects the upper part to the lower part of the boot and guarantees excellent hold for the leg. The steel slider has been designed to protect the heel and favor the natural sliding motion in the case of a fall.

Features of the TCX Competizone S Gore-Tex motorcycle boot include:

  • Upper: vented micro fibre
  • Lining: Gore-Tex waterproof membrane
  • Protections: polyurethane shin plate, shift pad
  • Closure: zip and Velcro band with safety locking system
  • Midsole: Reinforced in the heel area and pierced to increase breath ability. Antibacterial foot bed
  • Sole: oil and petrol resistant with air channels to allow air outflow
  • Sliders: rear and toe replaceable steel sliders
  • Shin plate: with mesh air-intake PU

  1. Comfort on and off the bike

I bought a size 42 to replace my ageing Dainese, and glad I did. First thing I did was to replace the stock insole with a softer aftermarket one which offers better cushioning. Wearing it the first couple of days gave me a sore near the left side of my last toe, but I am slowly getting used to it now. I wear the boots everyday to office, and likewise when I go riding on weekends. The boots feel very solid and support in the ankle is great. I have still waiting for that torrential downpour to test the water tightness but I have no reason to suspect it will not hold up to its claims. The screws that hold the toe slider and the TCS together can come loose, and you will need an allen key for that. The outer soles are claimed to be oil and petrol resistant. I have been to the gas station to tank up a couple of times with this boots, and the road surface did not present any problems. Overall a very well built pair of boots that's worth your while considering if you are boot hunting.
